FLN ગુણાંકન સિસ્ટમ (referred to as "the System", "we", "us") is a school administration system used to record and track Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) assessment marks for students, built for and operated by the school administration of NPSS Jamnagar. It is used by Admin staff, Commissioners, Cluster Resource Coordinators (CRC), Schools, Teachers, and Parents (who log in to view their own child's results), each with a role-specific login. This policy also covers the "FLN NPSS JAM" Android app, which is a webview-based wrapper that loads this same website inside the app.
We only collect information needed to operate the assessment system. No information is collected for advertising purposes, and the app does not request access to your device's camera, microphone, contacts, or location.
| Role | Information collected |
|---|---|
| School | School name, DISE code, taluka, district, mobile number, login username (auto-generated), password (stored encrypted/hashed - never in plain text) |
| Teacher | Full name, mobile number, assigned school, login username, password (hashed) |
| CRC / Commissioner | Full name, mobile number, assigned schools (for CRC), login username, password (hashed) |
| Parent (child's result login) | Child's full name, GR number, student UID, standard (std) and class/section, assigned school, login username, password (hashed). The login is issued to the parent/guardian by the school to view their own child's results. |
| All roles | FLN assessment marks (reading/writing/numeracy topic-level scores), attendance/absence status for each assessment period, and basic usage logs (login timestamps, IP address, and which pages/actions were used) for security and troubleshooting |
All of the above information is entered into the System by school/education-office staff (Admin, School, Teacher, or CRC users) as part of normal FLN assessment record-keeping - it is not collected directly from students by the app itself. Children do not create or hold their own accounts; the result-viewing login is issued by the school to the child's parent/guardian.
Access is strictly limited by role and scope - nobody sees more than their role requires:
Data is stored in a database on servers operated for NPSS Jamnagar's school administration. Passwords are never stored in plain text - they are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing (bcrypt), so even system administrators cannot see a user's actual password. Access to the system requires a valid username and password, and each role's data access is enforced at the server/database level, not just hidden in the app's screens.
Assessment records are retained for as long as needed for the educational purposes described above (tracking a student's progress across school years) and to meet any applicable government record-keeping requirements for school assessment data. Accounts for students who have left the school, or staff who have left their role, can be deactivated or removed by Admin on request - see Section 10 below for how to request this.
This System records educational assessment data for school students, some of whom are children under 18. The System itself is designed to be used by adults - school administration staff (Admin, School, Teacher, CRC, Commissioner) and parents/guardians, who are issued a result-viewing login by the school so they can see their own child's FLN progress. Children do not sign up for or hold their own account, and the app does not knowingly collect any information directly from a child. The result-viewing login does not show advertising, and does not include any social/chat features, in-app purchases, public profiles, or external content sharing - it only displays that one child's own assessment results to the parent/guardian who holds the login. Parents/guardians who have questions about their child's data, or who want it corrected or removed, should contact their school or use the contact details in Section 12.
We do not sell student, teacher, or school data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Data may be shared with the relevant government education authority (e.g. for official FLN progress reporting) as part of the System's core purpose. The System does not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs that track users across other apps or websites.
The System uses a single essential session cookie to keep you logged in after you enter your username and password. This cookie is required for the System to function and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. It expires when you log out or after a period of inactivity.
You (or, for a child's result-viewing login, their parent/guardian) may request to:
Because accounts in this System are created and managed by school/education-office staff (rather than self-registered), the fastest way to make any of these requests is through your school or CRC/Admin office. You can also submit a request directly using our Account & Data Deletion Request page, or by emailing the contact address in Section 12. We will action valid deletion requests within a reasonable time, except where we're required to keep certain records for legitimate reasons such as regulatory/government record-keeping.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if the System's features change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the System after a change means you accept the updated policy.
